Key Challenges for Coaching in Healthcare

FOR
COACHES-IN-TRAINING
Struggling to Get coaching experience?
Coaches in training or early career coaches can find it hard to access regular, real-client hours in a structured, supported way. This is particularly helpful for internal coaches whose primary career is not coaching, such as clinical staff.
Difficulty Marketing Yourself?
Coaches can lack confidence in sales and marketing. This model brings clients to them, so they can focus on coaching.
Feeling Unsupported?
Coaches can feel disconnected or isolated, particularly after formal training is complete. This platform offers community & peer connection.
Looking for Feedback or Mentoring?
Requesting client feedback can feel awkward and accessing coach mentors can be difficult. Coaches get valuable client feedback and access to mentoring, helping them grow in skill and confidence.

FOR HEALTHCARE LEADERS
Managing High Turnover and Low Engagement?
Coaching supports professional development, especially useful in early-career and high-stress roles, by improving self-efficacy and psychological wellbeing.
Looking to Improve Workplace Culture?
Behaviourally focused coaching helps seed culture change at the individual, supervisor, and leadership level—by building better listeners, communicators, and collaborators.
Curious about Equity for Professional Development?
This model provides access to support and growth regardless of position, location, or access to traditional leadership and professional development programs.

How many Coaching hours/experience do I need to join this pilot?
Once you have completed your training as specified you are eligible to register. You are here to gain experience!!
Will I get paid to Coach?
Yes! Coaches will be paid $220.00 and $440.00 per client as a Bronze or Silver Coach respectively. Each Coach is eligible to Coach up to four Clients eg $880 and $1,7600 is the fee payable to Bronze or Silver Coach respectively, for four Clients (incl GST).
Additionally you’ll gain non-financial benefit through practice hours, professional development, visibility, and being part of a social-impact initiative, topped off with the value of three hours of Coach mentoring.
How much will it cost me to join?
There is a one-off registration fee of $440.00 or $880.00, as a Bronze or Silver Coach respectively. Then there is a $60.00 matching fee per Client you are matched with to Coach (incl GST).
Can I count these hours toward ICF credentialing?

An ICF Experience log template is available on this website: https://Coachingfederation.org/credentialing/prepare-for-icf-credential-application/experience-requirements/
How are Clients matched with me?
We use an intake survey to understand client needs, preferences, and availability—then match them with suitable Coaches based on their preferences. Clients will select two preferences for Coaches and then the Coach will arrange a first contact with the client to ensure the match is workable.
Will I receive feedback on my Coaching?
Yes. Clients are invited to complete a brief feedback form after their program is complete, and you’ll receive de-identified summaries to support your growth.
What if a Coaching match isn’t working out?
You or the Clients can contact the program team to discuss rematching. The best time to identify a potential mismatch is during the first meeting. If for some reason there is an issue during the Coaching, both parties agree to discuss with resolution in mind and can involve a Coach mentor or contact from the program team to assist. Re-matching can occur.
Client FAQs
What is Coaching, and how is it different from therapy?
Coaching is a future-focused, goal-oriented process that helps you build insight, clarify direction, and strengthen behaviours. It is not counselling or clinical therapy and does not diagnose or treat mental health conditions.
Who are the Coaches?
Our Coaches are qualified healthcare professionals that are evidence-based Coach-trained. With a minimum of 60 hours of Coach-specific training, they are looking for Coaching Clients, to build their Coaching experience and may be working toward a Coach credentialing. They are supervised, have Coach-mentoring, are bound by a code of ethics, and passionate about supporting healthcare professionals like you.
How much does it cost?
Each program (4 x one hour virtual coaching sessions) will cost you $286.00 or $572.00 for a Bronze and Silver Coach (incl GST) respectively. We proudly offer coaching at significantly reduced rates to make it accessible for all clients, while still recognising the value of the Coach’s time and training.

Organisation FAQs
Can I sponsor my employees to receive coaching?
Yes. Organisations are warmly invited to sponsor employees to take part in The Coaching Exchange. By doing so, you’ll be investing in your people’s growth while positioning your organisation as an early supporter of an innovative initiative that builds capability and wellbeing across the healthcare workforce.
If I sponsor multiple employees for coaching, are there any discounts?

Employees who are motivated, have self-insights, are in a good place and want to get to a great place, open to self-reflection, and committed to their professional growth will gain the most from coaching. This includes early-career clinicians, emerging leaders, or staff navigating key transitions in their healthcare roles.
How is confidentiality managed between the coach, client, and organisation?
All coaching conversations are strictly confidential between the coach and client, in line with coaching ethical standards. Organisations receive de-identified, aggregated feedback as part of the pilot evaluation process.
